1. About this policy
This document is between Sterling Security (“Sterling Security”, “we”, “us”) and the person who accepts it (“you”, the “Host”). Questions and notices about it go to tolmmu979@gmail.com. It explains how an application or hosting can be cancelled or ended, by you or by us, and what happens next.
2. Before installation
You can withdraw your application at any time before installation from your dashboard. Nothing is owed by either side.
3. You end hosting
You can end hosting at any time, for any reason, by choosing “End hosting” on your application in your dashboard or by writing to tolmmu979@gmail.com. Your request takes effect 30 days after we receive it, or sooner if we agree. We ask hosts to plan on hosting for at least 12 months. This is an expectation, not a penalty: you can still end hosting earlier, and you owe nothing if you do.
4. We end hosting
We may end hosting at your location for any reason by giving you 30 days notice in writing. We may end it with shorter notice, telling you why, if:
- the equipment or its location has become unsafe;
- a law, permit or authority requires it;
- you no longer have permission to host at the property, or the property is sold;
- the equipment has been tampered with or deliberately damaged, or you have not given access for necessary maintenance, after we told you about the problem in writing and gave you a reasonable chance to fix it.
5. If the program closes
If Sterling Security closes the Sterling Lake host program, we give every host 30 days notice in writing, except where safety or law requires a shorter time.
6. What happens when hosting ends
- Compensation already earned is paid as described in the Host Compensation Agreement. If hosting ends part-way through a month, that month is paid in full.
- We remove our equipment as described in the Equipment Access and Removal Policy.
- Readings from your location are handled as the Host Agreement and Privacy Policy describe.
- Your Sterling Security account stays open unless you ask us to delete it.
- You never pay Sterling Security anything to take part in the program. There are no fees, deposits or penalties. Ending hosting never creates a charge or penalty for you.
7. General
Washington State law governs this document. If a dispute cannot be resolved by talking it through, it will be decided by the courts of Thurston County, Washington, unless the law gives you the right to bring it somewhere else. Before going to court, each of us agrees to first contact the other in writing, describe the problem, and try in good faith to resolve it.
