1. About these terms
These Terms of Service govern your use of sterlingsecurity.org and any Sterling Security account (the “Service”), operated by [legal business name and entity type] (“Sterling Security”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these terms.
2. Accounts
- You must provide a valid email address and keep your password confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account.
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
- Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.
- We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms, that are used fraudulently, or where required by law.
3. Products in development
Products described on the Service may be in development, coming soon or in research. Descriptions of planned features are statements of intent, not commitments, and may change. Nothing on the Service is an offer to sell a product unless it is expressly marked as available for purchase.
4. Sterling Lake host program
Participation in the Sterling Lake host program is governed by the Sterling Lake Host Agreement, the Device Installation Agreement and the Compensation Terms, which apply in addition to these terms. Submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance.
5. Acceptable use
- Do not attempt to access accounts, data or systems that are not yours, or to test the security of the Service without our written permission.
- Do not submit false information, impersonate others, or apply to host equipment at a property you are not authorized to approve.
- Do not interfere with the Service, including by automated scraping or excessive requests.
6. Not an emergency service
The Service and any product in development are not monitored emergency response services. In an emergency, contact local emergency services directly.
7. Intellectual property
The Service, our hardware designs, firmware, software and brand are owned by Sterling Security. You may not copy or reverse engineer them except as permitted by law.
8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
[To be drafted by counsel: warranty disclaimers and limitation of liability appropriate to the business and applicable law.]
9. Changes
We may update these terms. We will post the new version on this page and, for material changes, notify account holders by email before they take effect.
10. Governing law and contact
