Sterling Security

Equipment Access and Removal Policy

Version 1, effective Oct 19, 2026

1. About this policy

This document is between Sterling Security (“Sterling Security”, “we”, “us”) and the person who accepts it (“you”, the “Host”). Questions and notices about it go to tolmmu979@gmail.com. It explains when and how Sterling Security visits your property, and how our equipment is removed. It is part of your Sterling Lake Host Agreement.

2. Reasons we visit

  • Installation
  • Routine maintenance, inspection, battery or part replacement, and firmware updates that need a visit
  • Repair after damage or a fault
  • Removal

3. Scheduling visits

We contact you at least 48 hours before a routine visit and agree a time with you. You can ask for a different time. Visits happen during reasonable daytime hours unless you ask otherwise. Our technician identifies themselves on arrival. They go only to the outdoor installation spots you approved and the route you agree to. We never enter your home or any building. You are welcome to be present.

4. Urgent safety situations

If the equipment becomes a safety hazard — for example a damaged enclosure or a loose cable — we contact you right away and ask to visit as soon as you can allow it. If you cannot be reached and the hazard is outdoors, you may switch off or unplug the equipment yourself; that is never a breach.

5. Limits on access

Our access exists only to install, maintain and remove our equipment. It is not a permanent right: it ends once our equipment has been removed, and it ends early if you end hosting (except for the removal visit). We have no right to use your property for anything else.

6. Moving equipment

Only Sterling Security moves the equipment. If you need it moved, ask us and we will arrange a visit.

7. Removal

When hosting ends for any reason, we remove both enclosures and all our mounting hardware within 14 days, at a time agreed with you. We leave the spots clean. If installing, maintaining or removing our equipment damages your property, we will repair the damage or pay the reasonable cost of repairing it. Tell us as soon as you notice it. If we cannot reach you to arrange removal, we keep trying by email and through your dashboard. Our equipment remains our property; please do not throw it away. If it is easier for you, you may ask us to collect it from an agreed outdoor spot. You are never charged a fee because removal is delayed.

8. Lost or stolen equipment

Tell us promptly if equipment goes missing. You are not responsible for wear, weather, accidents, theft by others, or faults in the equipment. You are responsible only for damage you or someone you allow on the property causes intentionally, and then only for the reasonable cost of repairing or replacing the damaged item.

9. Records

Each installation, maintenance visit and removal is recorded in your dashboard.

10. General

Washington State law governs this document. If a dispute cannot be resolved by talking it through, it will be decided by the courts of Thurston County, Washington, unless the law gives you the right to bring it somewhere else. Before going to court, each of us agrees to first contact the other in writing, describe the problem, and try in good faith to resolve it.
